ICC issues an arrest warrant for Al-Saiqa Brigade Commander

Major Mahmoud Mustafa Busayf al-Werfalli, a commander in the Al-Saiqa Brigade, is accused of murdering 33 people in Libya,.

 

According to the International Criminal Court Prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, there are reports of unlawful killings, such as the execution of detained people, kidnappings, forced disappearances, torture, prolonged detentions without trial, rape and other ill-treatment of migrants.

 

Mrs. Bensouda appealed directly to General Khalifa Haftar, head of the Libyan National Army, urging him to transfer Mr. al-Werfalli immediately to the Libyan authorities so he will be presented  to the court without delay.
